Puddles Day!

Hey!
Today the weather started out just pure windy. Then around lunch time, it was like whoosh and all the clouds blew in and it started raining cats and dogs. I was pretty lucky--decided to wear boots and tights, so I didn't stay wet for long. My friend gave us a ride home, but not before we got wet ^^v Here's a puddle in our school parking lot. Guess how deep it is :3

Here's my outfit, and just to say, while it isn't top quality, this skirt is really fantastic, and it was only 9.99! :) It's awesome because it doesn't blow around in the wind~

On a random ending point, I tend to put on a lot of lip balm when it's windy. What you guys do when it's windy?

Happy Chinese New Years & Valentine's Day everyone ^^ Anyways, here's today's outfit, it's geared towards CNY, obviously, because of the bright colors and red/pink~ Honesly I didn't really think about how much red stands out, until I got to church and the one other person wearing red immediately caught my eye. It really is a dang eye catching color, especially if everyone else is wearing grey or black.

And yes, my socks are meant to be mismatched. Ever since I started buying Costco socks, I've made an effort not to wear the same colored low-cut socks; it's more fun this way :)

Hey!
So...today I'm just wearing one of my dad's button down shirts. I actually really like it. Shame there's no picture :x Well, I'm sure it'll come up again sometime ^^. Anyways, I was thinking about shoes, because the media somehow always talks about neutral colored heels, or wedges. And I think wedges are a good way to add some inches without feeling like you want to cut off your feet.

Also, I remember there was this girl at school last year...she had this pair of skin-colored pumps, and whenever she wore them, she looked super tall. I mean, it's not like she was super tall to begin with, probably my height, around 5'7", but those pumps...Anyways, here are some potentials, especially the pair from Payless...obviously I can't afford $400 shoes right now :/ In time...:)

A hint of sky

Hey!
This week has been kind of tiring. And when I'm tired, I tend to eat a lot. It's a bad habit I'm sure we all have, and that we try to get rid of. After sleeping more on Tuesday night, I realized that sleep really is insanely important-- not only energy-wise, but also positivity. I felt tons better on Wednesday than I did on Tuesday.
Then I noticed something else.
I had gotten in the habit of saying "I'm tired." ...what a terrible habit, huh? So, I've decided to make a conscious effort on not saying "I'm tired." when I'm really not. :)

Today was a sunny day with bouts of cloud, which made super cool pictures, I think. The sky really is wonderful-- it's so random but fantastic at the same time. Just looking at all the different shapes and textures make me feel energetic. Plus the lighting was nice for some self-picture-taking...haha. I was so tempted to just stand there, except they were moving, and I had to get a good picture. Anyways, here's what I wore, and the fabulous white clouds!

Anyhow, I should go to sleep, as to not give myself a reason to keep complaining "I'm tired I'm tired!".

Bright Yellow

Hey! Today is Saturday, and I went to watercolour class. Although I was super tired, and really screwed up the flower I was painting, it was really relaxing. Art does that.

Yay! I like my earrings :) They're from Taiwan and I don't wear them often, but :)
Anyways, I wore this windbreaker because my favorite dark blue jacket was in the wash. For some reason, dark blue jackets are really comforting to me. I wear mine until they literally have holes in them, and then I have to go on a hunt to find the next perfect blue jacket. They're not expensive-- my most recent one is from Aeropostale. However if the cut is right for you, I find that it can go along with 95% of your outfits. The other 5% is formalwear, which I don't often get to wear. Is there a wardrobe staple you just have to have? What is it? :)

Hey have you played the umbrella game? If not, I won't ruin it for you. Anyways, I've decided to restart this blog. Give it a new beginning, persay. I will try to write more...wide-angled stuff, whether about art, fashion, photography, or something interesting and helpful.

It was a cloudy day, with enough lighting to make the puddles reflect. It was a day that gave off a nostalgic mood. As I walked past a puddle I was just thinking that I wanted to take a picture. Hope that looks like a painting, I think it does. The umbrella was given to me by my grandmother and I really like it because it's a pastel pink, and really big and keeps me dry.

This for our winter formal :) It was fun...no date, but plenty of picture taking--for yearbook. I saw a red version of the dress my friend wanted from Modcloth ^^

Anyways, this dress turned out...super short and tight, which is no problem, as long as I didn't sit down. I need to make a conscious effort to dress better, and take more pictures of myself. I really want to get onto Lookbook . My sewing machine broke soon after, and I need to get it fixed....have a couple of projects lined up. Oh something interesting picked up from a book :: Hokori wo motsu.

School started. It's incredibly sad. Anyways, couple weeks ago, I helped out with the Santana Row fall fashion show, and it was so much fun. And amazing :) Everyone was amazing. It was my first time doing a more professional show, so it was definitely different, and I learned a lot, and I'm really glad I had the chance to work with some wonderful people.

Haha...I'm the tall Asian girl in the far back left corner not wearing glasses...Somewhat hidden. Oh! I bought a pair of Madden Girl booties from DSW recently, but haven't gotten a good picture yet. It'll come later :)

It was so exciting to shop in Taiwan. The masses of people, the uncountable pairs of heels, the deviation in personal style! Although it was a bit difficult to find clothing to fit me, as my size is slightly over the average Taiwanese teenage female market size, it was superfun to shop in Taiwan :D. I found a store called Giordano and got these pair of jeans. Super comfortable and guess what, $18!!! hahahaha. 599 NT, but in USD it's 18. ;) Wish they had a Giordano store in the US, and even better, maybe in Cali, but nope-- stores are mostly in Asia and Australia. Anyways, just...yeah.

Heehee should've worn heels for these pics, but no shoes in house, and I forgot rofl. Oh and this past Saturday, I went to Stanford Charify Fashion show and it was fabulous :) I was especially struck by this FIERCE Asian model and my friends and I were like ad;kadsjlf over these other two guy models. hahaah xD;

Yeppp....SHOOT. Homework. Grr . Get back to that now....haha<3

Those military jackets! Damn I love them :) I wish people actually wore jackets in the Spring in San Jose XD;;
Anyways, I was reading Teen Vogue..and lo and behold, pops up a Balmain Spring09 jacket!! Surprisingly, it was not the black one, which so many people had mentioned last winter, but the faded blue one hasn't been around much, hasn't it. but now as I look at it, the more I like it. :D It's more subtle, but still indefinately chic and I think you could wear it forever.

I went shopping with my friends but I decided the pants were too expensive, because the lady says it was the new Spring line, so it wasn't on sale. So I decided to wait. Apparently, my patient paid off. They used to be...either 40 something or 60 something, but I got them two weeks ago for $29 :) Yay for me ^^ the second photo is just the Snoopy detail on my tshirt.

So...on Tuesday, I went to visit the de Young museum, mainly to see the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit. It was spectacular. I wish we were allowed to take photos...The suits were really revolutionary in their time weren't they....-sigh-Ok,

Today I wore a dress my mom found that one of my distant aunts apparently made. It's long sleeved and quite comfortable. Because it was really big, I belted it with one of my dad's belts. It was really cold and raining, so I'm wearing some leggings and boots so my feet don't get wet. :P

Okok. So I went to the orthodontist this afternoon..and came across some what I might consider treasure! Free magazine with crazy out of this world articles and editorials. Well, out of the ordinary and cool. It's called Interview, maybe I'm just really behind on stuff like this but, I haven't heard of it before. Here's a page I really liked..Just 'cause of the colors, the makeup. Oh, the obi belt is really cool =]

Happy new years guys!! I've just spent a whole two days in this outfit.

Jacket- F21, tank-Splended, shorts- Target, leggings- Fleurish, Scarf- H&M xDD It's like, the maximum-comfort outfit, but still look good, and warm.

I got home from the sleepover well rested and content. Well, four hours of sleep. 7-10, haha. Anyways, my mom said Ihad to reorg. my closet so I went through my old clothes and found a tight fitting mini dress. It fit, literally, like a glove.

Even though it's tight, it's stretchy and pretty comfortable. It doesn't restrict movement at all. I will try to find an occassion to wear it :) This one's from before CHRISTmas. I was debating whether or not I would be able to wear my snow boots to school. Actually, I don't think it looks too bad! you? [bang!] haha Alright. Watching too much Japanese drama.

So to start the new 2009 year, I will end with, not a fantastic spread, but a smexy picture I really love. The composition, the color make-up and all that good stuff. It just seemed to really click. The lighting's also really awesome. It's all natrual, window lighting. :P

Black Friday

This is...me and my friend =] So we went to SF for Black Friday and although lots of stuff were on sale, most of it was still outside of my ~$60 budget. Tried on a lot of stuff, including a Eileen Fisher alpaca knit oversized sweater (lower picture). I fell in love with it. But it was $198 :/ So I took a picture to satisfy (not) my desire for it....

Anyways, after hitting the department stores, we went to lunch at this place in China town. Then back to shopping...After lunch we went to GAP and H&M. I was desperately searching for oversized sweaters but no such luck (even in guys section, the XL wasn't long enough for my expectations...and by then, the sleeves were wayy too ridiculously long)
However, in Gap, I did find they had a buy1get1free sweater sale. I ended up getting a long light brown cardi, and my friend go the same, except in grey, and in a smaller size. I was pretty happy with it. The price, too (~$13).
This was actually my first time in H&M and I was delighted to find awesome things in affordable prices. I got two scarves---one in a pretty salmon color, and another in lightblue/lt.brown. I also purchased a dk. blue blouse =] Blouses are back! :D Although it's not my usual style, I think it'll be a nice change from all my summer tanktops and T's.
I'm still looking for a pair of nice NOTseethrough leggings so I can wear shorts/skirts in the Winter. I walk to school..so, keeping warm is a must ^^;.
Okay. Whew, long post. Happy late Thanksgiving and Happy Black Friday everyone!

That's the bow =] I love it, really adds character to the whole blouse? The only complaint I have about the blouse is that the sleeves are a bit short, since it is my mother's and she's shorter than I am.

The fact that the tights were so threadbare really appealed to me, actually. And I've had this T for forever, but I love it, because it's casual, but not super casual :) Like, the material is, but the detailing spruces it up.

warm and furry

So this past weekend I aquired this furry (fake, duh), fleecy jacket. My brother's boyscout troop was selling them for some kind of fundraiser? :o
Well for $20, quality and look isn't bad. The inside is lined with some furry stuff and it's actually pretty warm. It's also has a semi turtle neck if you zip it. :]
I am happy to say I also think it has a somewhat more conservative chic look. Because the sleeves were too short to my liking on the medium, i got the large. The sleeves are longer and even though it is not as formfitting it doesn't swallow me, since I'm a bit taller.

Whee I finally got around to using the fabric I got from my school's 3D room and I made a skirt out of it :) Took me..around 3 hours and a bit. I really like how it turned out and the gathering was really nice too. Only thing was that the fabric didn't drape as nice, but I guess it adds to the volume of the skirt~

Hehe. And that's my friend's outfit which was fantastic :D Loved the boots, the slouchy leggings (which are slouchy because they're her mom's and bit big for her XD), and the skirt is awesome. From F21 i think.

So...this morning took two pictures. Thought both were interesting..but didn't want to bore you with the exact same place & clothes, so I photohopped it! hahah.
Yellow tank- Urban Outiftters. Cropped pants-- REI. Green tank-- Target. Oh and what's great about the pants is that they're water resistant and can zip off, and that's why I wore these today :]-- cause we have to wear long pants for lab days, and I didn't really want to wear long pants.

I got bored on the way home from polo and decided to give you a different background xDD Oh and that's my school bag btw. I found it in my mom's closet. It's really durable, which was a pleasant surprise.

These are the earring I wore today...from Claire's a long time ago. I know you can't see them in the other pics, but they're fantastic and I just recently rediscovered them in my drawer. xDD

Lazy Saturday

Today is Saturday and I woke up at 10. It was awesome. This past week I've been sleeping so late...Anyways, today's lazy day. Do all my homework and whatever. It's cold today and it rained in the morning :/

Skull print! :] It's a nice thermal T that I just use for layering...because it's a bit short, so wearing it by itsself isn't really an option.

Well, for those of you who like rain, happy rain day! and for me...I'll just sulk indoors with my homework. I do not like the rain at all :/ because I hate not being able to go outside..

In the Dark

Well today, I had school...and then I biked home, then back to school for polo practice. Then I stayed at school for Chinese school....and ended up biking home in the dark. Since I didn't have time today to take a pic yet, I just decided to do it in the dark. xD

Haha. I like this look a lot. It's practical and comfortable, and the neckline is not too revealing, but not super covered up. Plus the tights are really REALLY comfortable. I'm very sad because I don't remember where I got them ><

It's what inspired my earthy toned outfit today...The weather was being annoying, so I over heated a bit, due to the fact I was wearing long sleeves but...

On the way home from polo, I stuck my camera on someone's low fence. xDD;

The blue tank top was a free one from Wet Seal, courtesy of a coupon from Seventeen Magazine...last month? The skirt is from Old Navy, it's actually quite old..I believe I've had it since sixth grade..The shrug is from NET, store in Asia. It's very comfortable and can be worn belted or unbelted.

Just on another note, I was a bit disappointed these few months because I have not seen many nice skirts in stores :/ They're either too short, or slightly longer than I would like. I really really like these mid-thigh legnth flouncy skirt though :) They make anyone legs look nicer. haha~ The only drawback is that if you live somewhere really windy...xD;;;

Oh and btw I really really really like this shade of blue~ haha. The shirt itsself is ok I think...Nice fit and very comfortable, but I think it's a bit thin.

Monday Polo..

Today is monday. Today we had a polo game against Harker. We won 10-5 yay :3

This is just..my sloppy comfortable outfit. The long sleeve T is from this past summer's Local Missions Trip, and it's oversized but super comfy. Shorts are our polo Soffee shorts. They're super short...but really comfortable also haha~

Lab day

Today we had a lab day in chem. Meaning we had to wear long pants. I...thought leggings are acceptable, so i wore them :) Turns out they are, so I'm all good :] Anyways, I started to really like this outfit..it makes the shirt/skirt look kind of like a dress-ish? Well anyways, I thought it looked very put together :3 or something like that.

The tank is C&C California, belt is secondhand, skirt is from Delia's, and leggings are..I don't remember. The tag says Fleurish, but I don't remember which store I got them from. The Berkeley Way

Well anyways, last Labor Day weekend, my parents took my brother and I to visit Berkeley. Our tour guide was a grad student and I found that I really liked her sandles :D They were from Payless.

Umm there was this other shop there that was having a two dollar sale...But didn't find anything worth getting. Quality wasn't so great.

School makes me so tired....

Third and Already Exhausted

Today is the third day of school and I am already exhausted and ready for summer again.

Anyways, white tank from Target, yellow from Urban Outfitters, cardigan from NET, skirt from Delia's (got it in Minnesota, so no tax! ;D), shoes from Taiwan, I forget where the belt is from, and the bag I rescued from my mom's closet. :)

I really like this bag~ Got a lot of compliments on it too, which is always nice, haha. It's very practical since it's so big and spacious, but I'm afraid to over stuff it so I'll have to start using a real backpack next week The shoes I also like because they have a carefree feel to them and are very comfortable. The only thing is that they are getting really old and the soles are cracked now :/ I also really like the skirt! :) Kind of flouncy, but not over-doing it. So yeah. Back to hw and notes!

One More Day

One more day until school starts on Monday. Today was a pretty chill day...didn't really plan on doing anything except to snag a locker at night. The tak was from Mervyn's....shorts are Old Navy...they're getting pretty old...the shoes were my old 8th grade grad shoes from Payless. Yeah, and i'm standing on a chair..I know... +_+ Oh! By the way, yesterday (Friday) my friend Jenny and I went to our teacher's house. Played Portal and painted nails :D I found this fabulous blue chrome color amongst my teacher's vast selection of colors~

Yay for espadrilles xD I liked the freshness of white that contrasts my ridiculous tan which I am getting from polo practice. And I really really really like that chrome blue <3 Tomorrow will be...church and one last hang out with friends before school starts...:o

Ok so yesterday, I went shopping with my mom. She insisted on getting an SATII math book :/ Then we went to DSW to look for shoes. She's getting ready to throw my pretty red flats and polka dotted slip ons away because she say's they are getting old :( Unfortunately we didn't find any shoes we liked at DSW...I needed flats with a softer and comfortable sole because I will wear it a lot and need it to be wearable.

In the end, we ended up getting my slip ons at Payless at the Valleyfair across the street.

This is the front detail....Haha. I was looking for a white canvas background with colorful decor like my old pair, but I guess black works just as well :)

Today's outfit. I wanted to go with a simple black&white. The top is from...I believe Wet Seal, and the shorts I also bought yesterday from Abercrombie and Fitch. Now, I have never bought anything from there, but two years ago my friend got me a $15 gift card, and I've never gotten the chance to use it. And so I finally got a pair of white shorts :D Yay. The belt, [you can't really see it :/] is from Northern Tier, a canoeing trip I went on in July with my brother's boyscouts.

And I am pointing atttt....Dumbledore! x) Made him for a project last year.

Well first of all, not fashion related, but congratulations to Michael Phelps, eh? Freaking crazy xD;; So anyways, today's outfit was a purple tanktop from Old Navy and skirt...also from Old Navy, but considerably older.

I believe I've had it for at least 3 years. :o I like it though. It has a very nice shape to it and swings around :) The only drawback is that it might fly up when there is wind...

The corset/bodice I made. It was an experiment, and I used the pattern from reddawn.net and added the darts. Darts didn't come out too well...but at least now I have an idea of how to make a simple bodice.

This is what my goal is...to make a full bodiced dress :D Lol i just tucked a skirt part of a dress that I took apart to give a general idea xD;

Okok and this next piece totally made my day. My friend who is going off to college came by to drop off Portal for me, and also gave me a drawing and a necklace x) It was a project he and his friend did in Japan, when they stopped by for a glassblowing workshop. :o Whee I like the color ;) It's a bit dark in the picture, but I guess depending on the lighting, it could be dark purple or see-through pinkish. =]

Indecisive

This morning I woke up...and wanted to wear something yellow. I paired the yellow (Urban outfitters) and white (Target) tank with my mom's pants first...

but I wasn't really satisfied with that....plus it would've been a bit hard to bike to class in. Next I tried it with another pair of my mom's shorts...I liked it, but didn't feel like wearing high waist today.

THEN. [finally] I decided I'll just stick with all yellow and gold flats :) The shorts are from Target also, and the flats I purchased in Taiwan. They're really sparkly, but I found you could dress them down, or up, depending on what you were wearing.

See how indecisive I am? xDD;;; Ohwell. I was finally satisfied and got to class on time, too! :) Skit tomorrow! :D since I don't have to bike to class~

Ow I'm Sore

Here goes! Anyways, this is today's outfit...it's super hot today in San Jose. But I have to bike to class in the morning so you'll have to keep with me for two more days of pants. Then I can finally wear skirts again xD;; Sorry the pic's kind of small and blurry o.o;

Anyways, this is actually...hmm. I think most of the stuff I'm wearing is old. Tank from Target, shorts [superold] from Target, flats are from Payless, and the belt...not so sure actually. I really love the flats..but alas, the soles are thinning out :( The belt I also love because since it's black I can wear it with so many outfits, summer and winter. :] And if you look closely you'll see there are a ridiculous amount of holes/grommets, so I can wear it high, low, whatever.

is an oil painting I did a while ago....Don't remember what the reference was. but I really liked the effortless chic of it xD;;; I added some gold sequins to it..but I'm not sure you can see it. They're on the red wall and her beret.

I realize I really need to not care as much what other people think and wear what I want to....Maybe it's 'cause I'm bigger than a lot of my friends but when I wear certain things, it makes me look more mature? :o that's a weird way of putting it, but yeah...should probably be not afraid to try new things come this school year. Well yeah, that's my entry for the day then ^^.

the Ring

Ok, so here's my first style blog post....I have yet the nerve to ask someone to take pictures for me, but...Anyways, I think rings really add a touch of elegance to any hand, and this is one of my favorites that I have, which is not many, 2 ^^;

It's pretty good quality and cheap too. I aquired it last summer in a Taiwan night market for...100NT? Which is around $3 here in the U.S. So far I've found it to be pretty water resistant (it doesn't rust), for what reason I have no clue. But I love it. The funny thing is that the size I got fits best on my ring finger, so I get a lot of people asking me who gave it to me! So..yeah. Comments very welcome! :)
